Whitney earned her Master's Degree of Occupational Therapy at Tuskegee University. She enjoys working together with parents/caregivers, teachers, and health care professionals to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for improvement of child's function and independence in daily activities.

Pediatric Occupational therapy

At Holistic Blossom Pediatric Therapy we specialize in treating infants, children and adolescents with concerns including; ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Motor Planning Difficulties, Cognitive Disorders, Modulating Behaviors, Processing Disorders, Primitive Infant Reflexes, Feeding Disorders, Toe Walking, Dyslexia, Torticollis.

handwriting skills

 Writing requires visual coordination, core strength, fine motor skills and hand strength.  Occupational therapists can evaluate the underlying components that support a child's handwriting.

sensory integration

 Sensory integration therapy is used to help children learn to use all their senses together through, touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. The idea of sensory integration therapy is to use physical activities and exercises to help children learn to interpret and use sensory information for increase engagement in daily activities. 

Visual Perceptual skills

 Visual perception is the ability to take in visual input, organize it, and interpret it. We work to develop the foundational visual perceptual skills and also use compensatory techniques in order to maximize your child’s abilities. 

Activites of daily living

Some children present difficulty with  self-help skills that allow them perform  daily tasks such as; shoe tying, buttoning, putting on and taking off clothing, using utensils for eating, putting on and taking off shoes and socks, cutting food, and brushing their teeth.  Occupational therapists are trained in ways to help facilitate development in these areas. 

cognitive functioning skills

 Executive function is responsible for your child’s ability to sustain attention, organize and plan, initiate and complete, problem solve, and regulate emotions.
